Responsibilities:
- Design and develop hardware solutions for embedded systems, ensuring functionality and reliability.
- Create and review schematics and PCB layouts using industry-standard tools.
- Collaborate with firmware teams to define system requirements and resolve hardware/firmware integration issues.
- Perform circuit simulations, signal integrity analysis, and design validation.
- Conduct hardware testing and debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and other tools.
- Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for hardware projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with sourcing teams to identify, evaluate, and procure components, balancing cost, availability, and performance requirements.
- Develop test procedures and validate new hardware designs against defined requirements.
- Research and select components to meet design specifications, considering technical and logistical constraints.
- Work with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the successful production of prototypes and final products.
- Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and emerging technologies to inform design decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware design and development for embedded systems.
- Strong proficiency in circuit design and analysis, with a focus on mixed-signal (analog and digital) systems.
- Hands-on experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, or Cadence Allegro.
- Solid understanding of signal integrity, power distribution networks, and EMI/EMC considerations.
- Familiarity with microcontrollers, FPGAs, and associated peripherals.
- Proficiency in using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and multimeters.
- Experience in BOM creation and management, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of high-speed design, power supply design, or RF design is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues.
- Excellent communication skills for cross-disciplinary collaboration with sourcing, firmware, and manufacturing teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
